The Secret Life, Teen Moms, Teen Dads?, Saving the Future

Warning Serious Note here people!

I do not believe teen pregnancies are acceptable. It wasn't that big of a problem for me until shows like "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom" came out, there was even a time when I adored "The Secret Life". But one thing is for sure and that is,  I will not discriminate against or judge a girl for being a teen mom.

If you have heard of this show then you may be a fan unless you're like me in which you probably could be neither here nor there about the show. Don't get me wrong, I loved The Secret Life when is first came out, I loved the teen drama and how the producers put a comedic spin on the very serious situation.

But now as we have arrived into the third season of this show I can't help but feeling like its the same ol' song and dance. You know teen drama Blah blah someone is pregnant other couples are struggling with having sex and resisting the urge to have sex, and all that gas.

I'm not knocking ABC for trying to create a 'Real' life drama, but this seems like it has fallen below the bar as in terms of real life. I mean wouldn't it be great if when ever a teen girl had gotten pregnant she'd struggle with the thought of abortion and then change her mind, and then keeps her baby and goes through the motions of being with the father and then he happens to actually want to be there for her and the baby, and then great and amazing things happen when her family actually wants her to keep the baby too.

It's not like that, thats not real life. There are girls that my sister (15) knows who are from ages 12-16 who get pregnant have babies and then the father is no where to be found and their parents will do one of three things, guilting them into aborting (or adopting out) the baby, kicking them out of the house (which leaves them to sort out things in foster care or living on the street), or they will help them by having them live there but making them get jobs. Real life is not a show like MTV's Teen Mom or Teen mom 2 (Really? It's like they're promoting teen pregnancy). True Story: One of the girls on Teen Mom got a boob job with her TV money, now how is her daughter supposed to benefit from that?..

Now the first teen mom was okay it did help some look into the lives of what some teen moms go through, but Teen Mom 2, I can just imagine the hoards of naive girls looking to see how they can time it right for the next 16 and Pregnant and on to Teen Mom 3.

So could you imagine being a 15 year old girl thinking about what college you want to go to and who you want to intern for and going shopping on Mom and Dad's dime, and then all of it comes to a halt because you had sex and got pregnant. There is nothing worse than the feeling of having to tell mom and dad their little girl is pregnant.

Imagine being 12 or 13 little girl and not having a clue...

That's it, that is real life. Real Life is not having friends around to help you take care of your mistake/blessing (The Secret Life)  and it certainly isn't about having make up and a 60-65 thousand dollar tv show contract (Teen Mom)  it is hot, sleepless nights of heart burn and gas, and freezing, tired mornings of vomit and hunger pangs. The sad part is that a lot of these younger girls 9-13 are usually ill informed or their parents aren't in their lives due to them working.   Yes, Reader you read me right girls out here are young as 9 years old having sex and getting pregnant. Imagine what they think when they see shows like 16 and Pregnant, children can be so impressionable. Just be aware and talk to them, ask the uncomfortable questions and ask them if they have any questions. They need to know in this world that we live in they have the right to protect themselves and to say NO!.

Sorry for the serious moment readers, It just really pisses me off how these shows glamorize teen pregnancy. I have plenty of friends who have gotten pregnant as teens, found a job, graduated from high school, and then went on to be stay at home students by registering at the community college to get their associates degree in what ever field they chose. But all will tell you it was never easy, none of them will say "oh I had an easy pregnancy" or "Going to school was a breeze when I was pregnant". You know what you will hear these young girls say "I got pregnant for a show and then I wasn't chosen because they didn't like my character."
-______- I'm sorry what? Pregnant...for a show...? Yeah this is the thought process of some of the girls of today.

-Done-

If you have made it this far Thank You please inform your little sisters, nieces, daughters, brothers, sons, and nephews about teen pregnancy and the other risks that are being taken when they have sex.

When I graduated in 2009 out of the five girls I hung out with I was the only girl who didn't get pregnant or have children in grades before then.  Now, I had acquaintances who were not pregnant but Im talking about my main circle of friends.

A website i came across with a very good article about teen pregnancy, http://www.chicktalkdallas.com/blog/?p=5574

I love Pretty Little Liars!

So here is my personal kind of rhyming kind of not poem.

Obnoxious Bitches and Silent Deceptions/smile in your face when wanting to befriend/ turn the other cheek when it’s time to defend/killings in cold blood behind doors of ‘protection’/ web of lies spun in different directions/ colorful stories told by believers of the mill/ close your eyes, hold your breath it’s all going down hill/ beware ladies, this is High School for beginners.

Get Real Bitches this is life for The Winners.

I am honestly a true Die Hard Fan of the show, but since the second season has ended for now I'm going to get to know the books, but not all of them I don't want to ruin the ending for myself. LoL

Ugh! Girly Feelings...

Names have been changed to protect thy heart.
Some days I honestly hate being a girl especially the ones where I'm feeling particularly girly.

By that I'm talking about in means of love, cold hard crushes, sweet glances with passer-by's and the rare on again off again relationship.

This time cupid didn't shoot me with an arrow, he hit me with a rock... a big one.
Just as I started to recover from the last rock Cupid threw at me, he picked up his sling shot and launched another (Angry Birds Style) and it hit me right in the chest with such a force that It gave me such terrible side effects which included an accelerated heart rate, dilated pupils, phantom smiling, and an over indulgence of daydreams and giggles.
Sad..
It's sad how I feel about you, I might even call it pathetic. You say it's because I deserve better, but I wonder if it's the fact that we deserve each other, that we always end up coming back to where we started from.
(kind of how I'm feeling about my current conundrum)

Don't get me wrong readers I will never give up on love. I love seeing people in love, helping people learn to love, and of course being in love myself. It is something that we owe to ourselves not to seek out love but to let it come to us and when it does we should then learn to hold on to it but not so hard that we kill it.
So readers, I'm just saying don't give up on love. Truthfully you should always be in love with someone even if that some one is you, love yourself first.

Jordin Sparks...Wowzers!

I was reading an article from http://www.nydailynews.com Where they talk about 07' Idol Winner Jordin Sparks, now I just thought it was just another negative gossip article or something of that nature but I clicked on it anyway and wow!

Miss Sparks how stunning you look, it appears as if she has dropped about twenty pounds of her original weight. She truly looks great while maintaining her curves and glowing complexion. It's as if she's not just losing weight but working on a healthy diet as a whole. I feel this is good since there are so many young ladies out there  following her  that want to just drop the weight as fast as possible, not caring about the consequences (like gaining it back as fast as they've dropped it).

The picture is something I have gotten from http://www.nydailynews.com where Sparks was said to be at Muhammad Ali's Celeb Fight Night.

What the...?!

Just something so horribly horrendous my sister showed me.

Who in their right mind would even take the chance on calling this girl the next Justin Beiber, i don't even like Justin Beiber like that and he has more talent in his weird beiber cut than this chick.

This girls name is Rebecca Black the song is Friday, and I cannot wrap my head around how anyone would find this as being some sort of enjoyment, I really hope its a joke. With the creepy robotic like tone and completely blank stare in her eyes accompanied by the constant air headed smile, I can only feel as if this is some sort of weird ploy saying how people will like anything as long as it involves a cute girl having fun.
-__-  Blank Stare.
I am not amused nor will I be fooled into thinking that this is what real entertainment is. I honestly believe I lost brain cells watching this. If you want to take a chance on this please proceed with caution:

I just realized that there was a guy rapping at the end. -_-

Also just because you hear music doesn't mean you are listening to it. Listen to what your Favorite artists are saying, it may shock you.

Update: I recently just found out that this girl is indeed 13 and this song was created for the soul purpose to anger people and give her a lot of viral buzz  in what seems to be overnight internet stardom. Apparently she's just another Youtube sensation trying to find ultimate stardom in the tv world. My advice for her is that the industry is not what its cracked up to be and if she still wants to be in then good luck.

Avatar: The Last Air Bender

Readers Please be honest here am I the only person who was amazed and let down at the same time while watching this movie?

The person who is being held responsible is named M. Night Shyamalan

Now starting out this movie had me all comfortable and interested, because like most Avatar fans I had been watching the series religiously (and still do now) knowing almost every witty word play and punchy punch line. Sad to say the movie fell so far below the bar that it would have landed clean on its face had it not been for it's awesome water and air graphics.

To me the movie was portrayed as an old war movie with poverty and slave camps, everyone was serious especially Sokka. Sad to say but the pronunciation of the names were changed as well. Most likely to make it more serious too.

If you have seen the show but not the movie, then don't go see the movie. (my opinion)  It was not enough that the director did change the name pronunciation but the characters characteristics as well.  Above all things he could have kept the storyline correct, doesn't he know its not about the destination but the journey?

Sokka ( Jackson Rathbone) was portrayed as a big brother scarred by war and turned serious. He should have honestly stayed in his lane (with Twilight) when it comes to his acting in this movie.

Katara(Nicola Peltz) was portrayed as a low ambition common character, to me she could have been played by anyone. This was her first movie so maybe she might be better in a different setting.

Aang (Noah Ringer) was actually portrayed somewhat correct, he just needed some more comedy.
Everyone else was played pretty much the exact way they are shown on the show. Pretty good for his first movie.

Zuko (Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel) had played his part pretty well, he was to play an exiled prince mad at the world feeling no remorse and driven by the feeling of pure hatred to find the avatar and in doing so restore his honor.

Now can anyone tell my why the only one who looks like his character is Aang?

Why is it that on the show Katara and Sokka are brown skinned tribes[wo]men. But in the movie they are portrayed as nearly porcelain skinned individials. While Zuko's character (in the movie) has brown skin and on the show he has clean pale skin.
Does this mean that dark or darker skin is  associated with being bad or unattractive?

Now yes I am late but this has been on my mind for awhile. So answer honestly.

Dear Old Nicki...

I have some thing to say that I'm not too sure to many folks will take to kindly to.

I am Officially no longer a fan of Nicki Minaj. Now yes to each his (or her) own but now I think after about three years of Nicki Minaj I am about Minaj-ed out I do not want to see any more of her due to this recent picture I came across on one of the blogs I frequent. Now don't get me wrong I loved the way she use to rap, but listen to her now compared to the past. Some one is definitely not dictating her own potential anymore.

(Her targeted age range should be about ages 18-30 but the ones who are listening more than the adults are about 11-17.)

It's possible I've just out grown her, but its weird because she raps about adult things and she says she is all about helping the kids and the 'barbies'.  Whose child is she helping with these explicit lyrics? I'm sure she may have been about helping out the young ladies at one point in time or another, but now she is just this:
the reason as to why I did not censor this is because you need to see this raw case of  (please excuse my American) Fuckery going on here. I didn't even Mention the Hair.

There is a line between pushing the envelope and just ridiculous and this is just bad. I simply cannot understand why one would take the time out to use a dildo as a prop in her/his performance.
She ain't nothin' like the old Nicki now she's a industry product marketed in the form of Black Lady Gaga.
Sad but true I feel she should look back on how much she's changed. maybe she will get out while she still has half the brain she was born with.

Funny Sundrop Girl

I know! I'm late with this one but I just love this girl!

Victory Is Mine!

Picture found on google, if you want it or the other photos removed please contact blogger.

Now we've all been to a yard sale or have had a yard sale at one point and time or another. When it comes to my mom she's the yard sale queen. She actually treats yard sales as a sport I like to call it Yard Sailing.
She enjoy's the hunt. The chance that there may just be something out there for her home that she didn't know she needed. (lol)

But aside from her you have got to see the look in a mother or any other well seasoned Yard Sailor's eyes when they are thinking that they are about to make a killing on something that you no longer believe serves a purpose for you. Kind of how you see those shoes that you have been eying for awhile and then Omigosh! There they are marked down 75% how do you react? would you rush over there grab them and let out a might warrior roar! or do you walk slowly and casually over to them and never let them see you sweat?
That's the joy of hunting at a yard sale, its the little victory dance you do in your mind and the feeling of triumph when your friends ask you about those shoes or furniture piece or whatever. So remember it's okay to feel like you just stole something, you can celebrate and dance when you get home or even just to your car lol. (I know I would).

So this morning I am hosting a yard sale and she (my mom) is out hunting. I love it when she goes out hunting though, you never know what she'll have when she returns.

But with the way the economy is, we all may just have to start bartering, bargaining and 'hunting' for what we may need for our families and homes.

Million Dollar Puppy

This 11 month old puppy is said to have sold for 10 million yuan (approximately 1.5 million in U.S. dollars) in China.
I could only dream of owning a dog this exotic, I would honestly move to a different area for the sake of this dog. ( sense im guessing the warm Carolina weather would not be all that great for this beautiful  hairy animal)
But I'm not sure how'd Isabella would react to me having another baby. (lol)

Money, Money!, MONEY?!

Google Found Photo:

As a college student I thought it was a bit of a let down to go to a community college, but I have soon come to learn it is the best thing I could have ever done (or had to do). With the economy being in the position that it is in right now and me being a dependent on my parents and  never had worked before (aside from volunteering) I had realized that had I gone away to college I would have been virtually stranded out there, yes I would be in the dorms but I would most likely be paying for it out of pocket. Since financial can only go but so far even with the help of a scholarship.

So I feel that being in Community College for the first two years of my education, studying in the college transfer program (and with the help of financial aid)   it gives me ample time to look for a job comfortably and establish myself from being a young adult just graduating from high school to a "Young Lady" making my way into prime adult hood. (almost three more months until my 20th birthday, How exciting!)

All in all I have learned that when it comes to college, money is the biggest thing that you need and if you qualify for financial aid from the government then you should use it, because it won't be there for long. Just some food for thought If the United States is in debt  how long do you think it will be before they stop supplying the college students with their free financial aid?

Covers

What do you notice first when you see a person?

Sometimes I may notice a persons eyes other times its their lips. Which brings me to  my main topic Piercings!
I love them big ones, little ones, stretched out, surface and even those that are embedded. I only have one facial piercing but i'd like to get another. Being raised as I was my parents aren't the type to like piercings. Well my mom is okay, but my father is on a level of why would you want to put a hole in your body that wasn't there when you were born?

Ha, Ha, Every time I think of his reaction to my nose stud I can't help but smile.

This brings me to my next subject what do you think of piercings?
I personally love them especially lip piercings I mean if your mouth has a good pair of covers im looking, lol.
I just feel why not, I mean if you're looking for a piercing to fit you and you have a small mouth try not to get anything too over bearing and if you're looking to get one and you have fuller lips ( like yours truly) you can get virtually any type of mouth piercing.

But Please, PLEASE do not forget the lipbalm your mouth is only as good as the effort you put into moisturizing it.I'm just saying that yes teeth and breath are important, but so are your covers too.

Two of my favorite piercings.

BTW: these are not my photos. just something I found on google, If you want them removed please tell me.

Whose Best Friend?

Well this is my first blog post I guess I should make this baby interesting right?

So grab a hold of your hat Sailor! I have a lot to say and so much time to do it.
I truly am 'happier than a monkey with a garbanzo bean' right now, see, I have this English bulldog ( i don't know how you feel about four legged friends but I love'em) she's my shining star and she's been sick for the past couple days. I keep trying to find the right dog food with out emptying my little college student pockets, but its no use, I have to switch her to the organic-expensive stuff, but truth be told I'd spend my last dime on Isabella. Luckily she's feeling better, I found a 25lb of dog food for her and since shes two now I can measure out her food in smaller portions.

I just got her back in August when she was about one in a half. All I could do was think wow look at the love in those eyes! lol

My dad likes to call her a sausage with legs, but all I see is a beautiful face and an different body. (lol) Truth be told she is like my child, i'm always thinking about her, which is kind of hard not to since she follows me everywhere.

Well here is where we stop at for now, If you've made it this far Yay! If not Boo!

I hope you've enjoyed my first post, I have more to talk about look out for posts about movies, make-up, fashion, college, pop culture and other sorts of things of that nature,
